Loyalty Points provides you with the ability to offer a robust loyalty program to your customers.

Your customers can earn points and then redeem those points for discounts on future orders, free shipping, and various other custom rewards.

Loyalty Points does not require a Liquid code installation.

Installation Steps

1. Install Bold Loyalty Points

  1. Visit the the Shopify app store.
  2. Enter your URL, if it prompts you.
  3. Accept the App Permissions, then select Install App.
  4. Select Start Free Trial to approve future monthly charges.

Note: Re-installing a previously installed app will prompt you to pay the first month's fee right away. Your free trial will not be re-applied.

  5. Read and accept the terms and conditions.

2. Setup Your Loyalty Program

Loyalty Points' setup wizard will help guide you through the process of configuring your loyalty program. You can specify the name of your program, the name of your reward points, and set introductory earning rules.

Please visit Set up a Loyalty Program for more information.

3. Configure Earning Rules

Earning rules are how your customers gain points for completing specific actions like signing up, making purchases, or promoting your store on social media.

  • Purchasing Product (per dollar) - Customers will earn points based on the dollar value of each purchase they make on your store. We recommend either keeping this set at 1 or using a multiple of ten to make things easier for both yourself and your customers.
  • Signing Up - Customers will earn points for subscribing. We recommend providing enough points so customers are incentivized to redeem a reward right away.
  • Celebrating Birthdays - Customers will earn points every year that they're subscribed to your loyalty program. We recommend providing a number of points that's based on your Average Order Value multiplied by the Purchasing Product Value.
  • Share on Facebook - Customers will earn points when sharing their purchases on Facebook.
  • Share on Twitter - Customers will earn points when sharing their purchases on Twitter.

Please visit Edit Your Earning Rules for more information.

4. Configure Rewards

Reward Tiers

Reward tiers are program levels your customers can reach to receive bigger and better rewards. These rewards can be a dollar amount off of an order, a percentage off of an order, free shipping, or a custom reward.

By default, we recommend offering a 2% return of your customer's purchase amount, but this depends on your profit margins.

Please visit Create and Edit Your Custom Rewards for more information.

Customers can redeem their points for something other than a monetary-based reward. Some examples of Custom Rewards include:

  • Adding a free product to your customer's next order.
  • Adding customization to an existing product.
  • Offering customers the ability to share their purchase on social media for extra points.
  • The option for customers to spend their points on a charitable cause.

Please visit Create and Edit Your Custom Rewards for more information.

Buy With Points

Customers can redeem their points with a direct point-to-dollar-amount ratio. The storefront widget allows your customers to select how much of a reward they'd like to redeem.

Customers can convert 1,259 points into a coupon code for $12.59.

In order to let customers use their points in the checkout, you must integrate Loyalty Points with Bold Cashier, of which is no longer available for new installations.

Please visit Set Up and Enable Buy with Points for more information.
